Engineering & Maintenance at ITTC North Bay

Our Engineering & Maintenance (E&M) team in North Bay is central to delivering on that mission.
Supporting a dedicated jet fleet, this team ensures aircraft are safe, serviceable, and ready to meet the demands of tactical training operations. The environment is fast-paced and operationally focused, where agility and attention to detail directly impact mission readiness.

 

Quality Assurance Inspector

Position Summary

The Quality Assurance Inspector is responsible for monitoring and verifying compliance with the Quality Assurance Program in accordance with Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) 573.09.
This role performs independent inspections, audits, and surveillance activities across aircraft maintenance, modification, and avionics projects to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, company policies, and approved procedures. The Quality Assurance Inspector provides objective assessments of AMO performance and supports continuous improvement of quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct independent inspections and surveillance of aircraft maintenance, modification, and avionics activities to verify compliance with approved data, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Perform audits of maintenance processes, documentation, and records in accordance with the Quality Assurance Program
  • Verify that all work is completed in compliance with:
    • Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs)
    • Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO) policies and procedures
    • Applicable manufacturer and engineering data
  • Monitor adherence to internal processes including:
    • Maintenance release procedures
    • Technical records and logbook entries
    • Configuration control and documentation accuracy
  • Identify non-conformances, deviations, and areas of risk, and support the development of corrective and preventative actions
  • Prepare detailed audit and inspection reports, including findings, observations, and recommendations
  • Maintain accurate and complete quality assurance records in accordance with regulatory and company requirements
  • Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to promote quality awareness and continuous improvement
  • Participate in internal audits, external audits, and regulatory inspections as required
  • Ensure independence and objectivity in all quality assurance activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of quality and compliance objectives
Qualifications & Experience
  • Valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) licence (preferred) or equivalent aviation technical background
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in aircraft maintenance, modification, or quality assurance within an AMO environment
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs), particularly Subpart 573
    • AMO Quality Assurance Programs and audit processes
    • Aircraft maintenance practices and documentation standards
  • Experience conducting audits, inspections, or quality surveillance activities is considered an asset
